CROCHERON, MD – OCTOBER 21, 2010. Stephen White, who made restoring Holland Island his life’s work, at his home in Wenona, MD, and the last house on Holland Island, a large Chesapeake Bay island that was reduced to one house by erosion. The last house toppled over in a storm earlier this week. 360 people lived on Holland Island which gradually succumbed to nature and is now completely submerges wy water during high tide.
